David Taylor was born into construction. His father was a respected general contractor, and David grew up learning the craft — the materials, the systems, the way a building is put together from the foundation up. He earned his general contractor license and spent years as a custom home builder and remodeler, developing the deep understanding of building assemblies that restoration demands.

A business transition led David to Missouri, where he was introduced to the restoration industry working alongside family. The experience changed his direction entirely. He recognized that restoration required everything he knew about construction — but demanded something more: the ability to act decisively under pressure, to earn a family's trust in the worst moment of their lives, and to navigate the complex intersection of technical restoration work and insurance claims.

In 2022, David founded First Response Restoration LLC, establishing the Houston headquarters at 16011 Hollister St — a central location that puts his team within 60 minutes of any home or business in Harris County and the surrounding metro. He subsequently expanded to the Rio Grande Valley, establishing a second IICRC-certified location in Edinburg, Texas to serve South Texas's growing market.

David holds four IICRC technician certifications — WRT, ASD, AMRT, and FSRT — covering every major damage type the company handles. He personally oversees major projects and maintains the technical standards that have earned the company its BBB A+ rating and IICRC Firm certifications at both locations.

Today, First Response Restoration deploys nationwide for disaster response while maintaining the local accountability that comes with a founder who answers his own phone.
